Māui and the Goddess of Fire One day māui wanted to be mischievous.He thought that he could burn out all the fire in the village to see what the villagers would do.The next morning when Māui's mum wanted to cook breakfast she saw that the fire was all dry.She asked the villagers if they would go to the fire goddess but they were all scared to go.Just then Māui heard her asking the villagers so he jumped out and said”I will go and get fire”but his mum didn't trust him Māui said”but I am the only one that is brave enough to go”his mother said “oh alright but if you do anything wrong to you grandmother you will be sorry if you do”!.Maui left the village and set of to go see the fire goddess.After a long walk he saw a house and a old woman sitting in front of it, he said to the woman”I am māui your grandson and I have come to get fire for my village”the old woman replied”ah my dear grandson.”here take this”the woman picked of one of her nails.Māui took it and went of back home.as he was walking back home he thought he wanted to be mischievous again so he went past a lake and dropped it in,then he went back to see the fire goddess.When Māui went back to the house he told the woman that the fire went out.She pulled of her second finger nail and said to take care of this one.Māui went back to the lake and dropped it in and went back to the house.The fire goddess gave away the middle finger but māui cept dropping it in the lake until she gave away her toenail.When Māui came back to get the last toenail he asked the fire goddess but instead being nice to māui she burst into flames and got really angry at māui.She said”you have been playing tricks on me!.”take my last nail and the curse with it”she roared.Māui was worried and terrified of her powers as the whole place lit on fire.As the flames almost burnt his feet he changed himself into a hawk and flyed away from his grandmother but the flames raised higher and higher and he could escape.he burned a feather but he still went on flying until he reached the ocean.Māui dived in the water and changed into a fish but the fire boiled the water and it was to hot to swim.Māui called his ancestor,Tawhiri-matea, the goddess of the wind.Māui said to him bring down some rain or I will perish!Tawhiri-matea heard māui and felt sorry for him.He bringeth down heavy rain to blow away all the fire.The fire goddess burned down and screamed in pan.Māui want back to his village covered in ashes when māui’s mum saw him she told him”you did something wrong to your grandmother I can tell”.Māui had no fire with him so he said”I don’t care get fire yourself”and māui went to tell his brothers what an adventure he had.

My Camping Trip
My camping trip
One day I decided to go camping for a few days.It seemed like a good idea so I dashed away packing and making sure my camping gear was all ready.When I finished getting ready I hopped in the camper van.I felt so excited to see all the birds and beautiful animals.
I drove for kilometres.
A few hours later then I got hungry. I stopped and looked in the back to see what food I had luckily I had a sandwich but when I was just about to eat it a squirrel came and snatched it off me.I ran and got really tired finally after a long time I caught my breath and I went and ran as fast as could to get my sandwich and took that squirrel.Finally I got my sandwich back and went back on the road.
After when I drove for a long time I saw a village of giant mushrooms it seemed strange then I noticed why it's because there were little doors and windows on the mushrooms and in the middle there were one big tree with a giant oak door with lots of windows.I stopped at a little parking to see closer but when I was about to open a door a little stick man made out of sticks came out .He said”hi what are you doing out here”.I am stick man Stan would you like to come and eat some tea and biscuits””I answered in a polite voice yes please I am very hungry”inside was a large circle room with a round table and a little bed and kitchen. On the table was a plate with biscuits and tea.The food was delicious and after we had a chat I said good bye.
I drove off and went back on the road.I drove for hours and hours until I felt sleepy I looked at the sky and saw it was getting dark.I jumped out of my chair and went to my camper van.I quickly woke up bright in the morning so I could find a place to camp it was nice and sunny. But when I looked forward I saw snow how could this happen!I carefully walked over the snow it looked like the snow man were moving I went closer and they were actually moving.The snow looked really beautiful I met a snow man that had a short nose and a green scarf all the houses were igloos instead of buildings.the snow man should me around the whole village but as soon as I saw the time I knew it was time to go.
In the morning I saw the perfect camping place it had three camper vans parked in a thick line of pavement.I parked my camper van between a lite yellow round camper van as I parked I knew this was the perfect spot.

To the Beach
To the beach!
Last week I woke up in startled.I thought to myself what are we doing to day then it occurred to me that we were going to my friends beach hut all the way at Porangahau.I told mum I got every thing so she she shouted for all of us in the car so we all shoved in the car.We had to drive for an hour and a half so I did a quick calculation and figured out we had to drive 100 kilometres.I got a little bored in the car so mum said to think of a game but I was not good at that.Finally we were there I jumped down from the car and saw my friend and she was already there.I went to stay at their beach hut last summer so I already know where everything is.It was 11 o'clock so we had an early lunch. Mum said after lunch we can go down to the beach.The beach hut is built on a hill in front of the beach so we have a perfect view. At the beach there's a little lagoon- we played in the lagoon for a while ‘and then went in the sea.The next day we played pole tennis and did face paint then played at the beach .We headed back to the cabins at about 5 o’clock so we had an early dinner because mum said we can ride their motorbike along the beach.When everyone was finished eating the boys got to ride first so we had to wait. When the boys came back they jumped off and. We ran to it and I Got to sit at the front.After we came back me and my friend went to collect sticks so we can have roasted marshmallows.after we eat lots of marshmallows we played a game of spot light.Spot light is like hide and seek but it has to be dark and you use a torch.The next day was our last day at the beach hut. We had scrambled eggs for breakfast and went to the beach one last time.We went back to have lunch and then we had to go.in the car I got bored again so I thought and thought about what to do until Mum said we could get ice cream. When we arrived back at Hawkes Bay we went to get ice cream and I got strawberry ice cream, it was delicious.Then we went home.

Huge fire sparks State of emergency
Flames horrify residents
Some time ago there was a big fire up in Waimarama.
The flames quickly covered the top of a mountain.
It covered the mountain because it was to hot.
The grass was so dry.I heard someone scream”look a helicopter”!
Flames got higher and higher.
Flickering flames roared in the air.
The fire came over a house and burned lots of the house.
The house went crash down to the ground!
